About Tamara van den Berg
In 2002 she graduated with honours at the Amsterdam High Academy of Arts. After that she has focused on portraits (a subject that still intrigues her), free work (like work inspired by the Great Masters, landscapes and still life) and graphic art.
“I stand in adoration before a work of Caravaggio, because of him, the genius who was able to make the Divine (the Idea) visible for others.”
In her free work Tamara van den Berg searches for the universel ('the Idea'), the higher. That religious feeling of astonishment and beauty. She finds her inspiration in the work of the Great Masters. They have made the ‘Divine’ visable for everybody to see.
